Is Chick-Fil-A Sweet Tea Bad for Teeth?

Mile High Smiles in Lakewood, CO

What You need to Know...

There’s nothing better than going through the Chick-Fil-A drive thru to satisfy your cravings. While Chick-Fil-A is known for its delicious chicken sandwiches and nuggets, many people can’t get enough of its sweet tea. It’s quite tasty and refreshing, especially on a hot day. Recently, a few of our patients asked our dental team whether Chick-Fil-A sweet tea is bad for their teeth. Keep reading to find out what we had to say.

Be Careful with Sweet Tea

Compared to a milkshake or soda, sweet tea may seem like a healthy drink. The reality is that sweet tea can take a toll on your teeth, gums, and mouth. If you drink it often, it may erode enamel and stain your teeth.

If you love Chick-Fil-A sweet tea, however, you don’t have to forgo it forever. As long as you drink it every once in a while or on special occasions, your oral health shouldn’t suffer. When you drink it, we suggest that you swallow it fairly quickly.

The longer you take to finish your drink, the more potential damage your teeth will face. Also, brush your teeth after you drink it. If you’re on the road and don’t have access to a toothbrush, no worries. You can always chew on some sugarless gum.

Professional Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a non-invasive dental treatment that can change the color of natural enamel and can do wonders for the beauty of your smile. We are pleased to offer Zoom professional teeth whitening to help you achieve a brighter, whiter smile. If your teeth are discolored because of sweet tea or another drink, Zoom is a great choice.
