Technology & Comfort
Innovative Technology
In order to deliver clinical excellence, our Lakewood dental practice uses leading edge technology making many of our proceudres less invasive, as well as more comfortable for our patients. They also allow more attention to detail and help us provide the quality care you deserve. In addition to digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, we utilize:
-
Microscopes- With the capability to magnify images from 3-20x, we now have the ability to see in unprecedented detail, allowing for more precise procedures and diagnosis.
-
Soft-Tissue Laser- Laser light is extremely efficient, producing very little heat as it acts with pinpoint accuracy on its target. This makes it ideal for oral surgery, simultaneously sparing healthy tissue, minimizing bleeding, and sterilizing the treatment area.
-
VELscope and ViziLite Oral Cancer Screening- Oral cancer detection is an essential part of preventive dentistry. We use the comfortable and precise VELscope and ViziLite system, which detect areas of concern using a special light. To learn more about VELscope, click here.
-
iTero- expect a new, comfortable impression experience. The iTero handheld wand takes a digital, 3D image of your prepared teeth in about three to five minutes. No more putty hardening in your mouth!
Patient Comforts
We understand that some of our patients may feel anxious, even fearful, about seeing the dentist. Don’t let the stress of a dental appointment get in the way of your oral health. Dr. Bausch offers sedation dentistry to help you relax and feel at ease while we take care of your teeth.
-
Oral Conscious Sedation involves a medication taken orally prior to your visit. This method allows patients to feel relaxed in the dental chair, while remaining conscious and able to answer the dentist’s questions. Although your dental procedures may take hours, you will feel as if they take only minutes. Some patients become so relaxed that they fall asleep in the dentist’s chair. The effects of the sedative typically subside the following day.
-
Nitrous Oxide Sedation involves a colorless, odorless gas inhaled through a nasal mask. Many people know nitrous oxide as laughing gas. We will control the amount of nitrous you receive to ensure your safety. Once you begin breathing the gas, you will feel relaxed, so the dentist can perform your dental work while you stay completely comfortable. The effects of nitrous oxide subside once we remove your mask, so if nitrous is the only anesthesia you receive, you will be capable of driving yourself home following the visit and can continue your daily activities as normal.
