Root Canals

Conservative Treatment for Damaged Teeth

We know the reputation of root canals. It’s the one dental procedure sure to make the most stoic of patients wince. But root canals really aren’t that bad, we promise! Dr. Bausch uses leading edge techniques, and combined with modern anesthetics and a gentle touch, you’ll be surprised at the comfort and pleased with the results.

What's Going on Inside My Tooth?

Trauma, a deep cavity, or a fracture can compromise the inner chamber of a tooth where the pulp, commonly referred to as the nerve, resides. The tooth pulp houses root canals and tiny blood vessels that provide vital nutrients and remove waste via the blood stream. If a compromised tooth is left untreated, bacteria can flourish inside the pulp, causing pressure and pain. Ultimately, the pulp may die, which necessitates removal of the tooth.

Why Do I Need a Root Canal?

Root canals are a conservative treatment used to eliminate infection from an internally damaged tooth, saving it from extraction. Dr. Bausch removes the infection, inserts a biologically-inert filler in the canals of the tooth, and tops the tooth with a custom crown. Our goal when providing a root canal is to keep as much of your natural tooth structure as possible while restoring form, function, comfort.

Dr. Bausch also provides sedation dentistry for patients who feel anxious or fearful of procedures such as root canals. Contact Mile High Smiles for your appointment and experience caring, expert dentistry.
